Bulls Drop Second Game; Supersonics Romp in Day 3 Action

Game of the Day:

New York Knicks 127 at Chicago Bulls 103

Michael Jordan scored 31, but his team failed to provide the needed help to prevent the Bulls from falling to 0-2. The Knicks’ bench outscored the Bulls 57-28 to help shock Chicago at home. The 103 points scored by the Bulls marks the lowest total by any team so far this season.

MVP: Michael Ray Richardson: 13 pts, 9 asts, 6 rebs, 2 steals.

Golden St. Warriors 135 at Seattle Supersonics 149

The Warriors outscored the Supersonics over three quarters, but it was Seattle’s 40 point outburst in the third that helped them to a solid home victory. The leaders in their loss to the Lakers struggled so new players stepped up. Xavier McDaniel, who scored just 2 in the opening game, had 22 this time while Durant bounced back from a disappointing game to lead all scorers with 32. But it was Jack Sikma really leading the way in the paint to make up for Shawn Kemp’s foul trouble.

MVP: Jack Skima: 19 pts, 16 rebs, 2 asts
